My Background
I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University in 2010, and have done extensive post-graduate coursework, including an Advanced Clinical Practice Certificate from NYU, Dialectical Behavior Therapy training from Behavioral Tech, and numerous courses in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cultural Competence, and Trauma training. I have many years of experience in Community Mental Health and in-person and telehealth psychotherapy.
My Approach
There is no cookie-cutter approach to therapy, so I want to get to know you as an individual. My approach is trauma-informed, and I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing to help you overcome unhealthy patterns and feel more secure and confident.
I know it can be intimidating to start therapy. I like to use a sense of humor and warmth to build a great relationship based on mutual respect and understanding so you feel comfortable to share and be yourself. I hope that I get a chance to know you and help you to work through any difficulties that you are facing and build a better life.
Non-Discrimination
Therapy is a welcoming, supportive and empowering space for everyone. I am committed to creating a culturally competent, sensitive and validating environment for people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, religious beliefs and ability statuses.
